Everything you need to know about Marriages Layers Pellets with Flubenvet It’s common knowledge that worming your poultry is essential to keep them healthy, and Marriages Layers Pellets with Flubenvet make it really easy to do so. Normally with a chicken wormer you would have to manually and thoroughly mix it in with feed. If not handled correctly the wormer can be harmful to your health, your chickens health and of course doing it by hand is also a general inconvenience. However, Marriages Flubenvet Layers Pellets are designed to replace the normal feed you would feed your poultry for seven days, during which time a chicken will eat the appropriate amount of wormer. The wormer is pre-mixed at the mill into normal 17% protein layers pellets and will be effective against gapeworm, large roundworm, caecal worm, hairworm and gizzard worm.
What is Flubenvet?Flubenvet contains flubendazole, a medication that kills adult and early immature stages of common poultry worms. It’s the most effective chicken worming treatment available and we highly recommend it.
How often should I worm chickens?Layers pellets with flubenvet should be fed solely instead of their normal feed for 7 consecutive days, you should repeat treatment around every 3 to 6 months.
How much chicken worming feed will I need?You will need to buy the same amount that your poultry would consume in a week on normal layers pellets, as Marriages Layers Pellets with Flubenvet acts as a replacement. As a quick example, 1kg per bird so one 10kg bag for 10 birds over a week.
Should I feed mixed corn or other treats alongside this feed?No, do not overfeed with mixed corn or any other treat, you should only use these layers pellets for 7 days. If your poultry has access to other foods or treats, they may not be getting the required dosage of flubenvet.
Will Flubenvet effect my Chicken’s ability to lay eggs?Not at all, the feed has no adverse effect on the egg laying or their hatchability.
Are the Chicken’s Eggs & Meat safe to eat during worming?The chicken’s eggs will be completely safe to eat throughout and after the worming process, there is no withdrawal period. Chickens should only be used for meat 7 days after the treatment has ended, in order to make sure it’s safe for human consumption.
What is the shelf life of this Layers Pellets with Flubenvet?The feed will have a maximum of 60 days shelf life at the point of manufacture and when it has reached you it will undoubtedly be less, so only purchase it when you plan to worm your chickens soon.
When can I start feeding my chickens Layers Pellets with Flubenvet?As soon as your chickens are OK to eat normal layers pellets, then they can be fed layers pellets with Flubenvet.
Can my chickens free range whilst being wormed with the Layers Pellets with Flubenvet?They can, but reduce the time so they’re not filling up while they’re foraging! If they’re eating too much while free ranging, they may not complete the required dosage of flubenvet.
