The Tetra test strips enable you to quickly and reliably determine the six most important water values in aquariums in one simple step: dip the test strips into the water, swirl them in the water for one or two seconds, shake off any excess water and read off the most important information about the water values just 60 seconds later. The colour chart can be used to determine whether these are within the safe range. The pH, general and carbonate hardness (GH + KH), nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-) and chlorine (Cl2) in the aquarium water are measured. Aquarium inhabitants such as fish react very sensitively to excessive changes in the pH value, which impacts their well-being. The general hardness affects the vital functions of fish, while the carbonate hardness has a direct influence on the stability of the pH value (pH buffer). The test strips also measure the nitrite and nitrate values of the aquarium water. Nitrite is extremely harmful, even in very low concentrations, and should not be detectable in the water. Nitrate is a nutrient that helps plants to grow. However, excessively high levels of NO3- can be harmful to fish and promote excessive algae growth. Chlorine may also be present in the water, and is harmful to fish and plants. Just like nitrite, chlorine should not be detectable in the aquarium water. The Tetra Aquatics app can be used to determine the water values quickly and reliably using a smartphone. Features •Water test to check the six most important water values in one step •Measures the pH, general and carbonate hardness (GH + KH), nitrite (NO2-), nitrate (NO3-), and chlorine (Cl2) •Full information and tips on possible countermeasures can be found in the instructions for use •Tip: with the Tetra Aquatics app you can determine water values quickly, reliably and easily using your smartphone Dosage Move the test strip back and forth in the water a few times. Shake off the excess liquid. Wait approx. 60 seconds and compare the test fields with the colour chart. Caution: Do not touch the test fields or hold them under running water! Further information about each of the water values can be found in the enclosed instructions for use.
How do you get water out of the aquarium? - with our clever cleaner pump. This powerful cleaner pump is simple for everyone to use, you do not need super human strength or four arms to get it working! The cleaner pump makes partial water changes easy and effective with minimum effort. A couple of squeezes on the hand pump is all that is needed to get the pump working. Whilst emptying water from the aquarium the cleaner pump will also suck up dirt and debris from the bottom. The cleaner pump can also be used to pump water back into the aquarium, eliminating the need to struggle with heavy buckets of water.
Use our special cleaning cloths to effectively remove algae without scratching. Available in packs of three these special cleaning cloths have a smooth side for regular cleaning and a rough side for really tough algae marks The rough side can also be used to remove lime scale build up from the base of the light unit. Cleaning pads should only be used on the inside of the aquarium.
The TetraTec GS45 is highly effective at cleaning aquarium glass quickly and with minimal hassle. Built specifically for the removal of algae from aquarium glass it consists of a hinged blade holder attached to a long plastic handle to enable glass to be cleaned easily without the need to get wet. The GS45 safely uses replaceable blades which are more efficient than traditional scourers at removing algae. Side protectors ensure that silicon sealant is not damaged during the cleaning process. How it Works The plastic handle of the GS45 is designed to float so as to avoid it sinking if it is dropped. The blade holder is hinged so that it can be kept flat against the glass even at awkward angles. The double blade system means that algae is cleaned twice in one run making its removal faster and more effective. Blades can easily and quickly be replaced and a protective edging ensures that silicon seals are not damaged during the cleaning process. How to Use Simply use the GS45 as and when you need to depending on how quickly the glass becomes dirty. In most cases cleaning will only take a few minutes.
