This is a wonderful gadget for tethering your dog up in the garden. It is made from metal and is very sturdy. The Stake Out Spike can be driven into the ground until the domed cap is level with the ground (42cm). Loam or clay soils are preferable to sandy or very wet ground. The stake should be driven into the ground vertically with a mallet or similar tool, avoiding the domed cap. The stake is easily removed by kicking or hitting the side of the top of the stake to help loosen it. It can then be pulled out of the ground vertically.
Not all dogs will tolerate being tethered up, therefore individual judgement is needed. Aggressive dogs should not be left unattended and all dogs should always be provided with water and have access to shade or shelter. The stake is also useful if you’re out and about, having a picnic for example. While you’re eating, your dog can be tethered up and perhaps join in the picnic by having his own little bowl of treats.
The stake is not rust-proof, but has a rust-proof coating. Re-apply the coating when it wears off. There is a 360 degree buckle at the top of the domed cap to help prevent your dog’s lead from tangling.
