Agrivite Mixed Poultry Grit is a mixture of Oystershell Grit and Flint Grit. Oystershell grit is essential for poultry to produce healthy egg shells and Flint grit is essential to improve feather and bone quality. As birds don’t have teeth, their food is ground down in their stomach with the aid of grit. The mixed grit is a combination of soluble and non-soluble grit. The Flint Grit is the non-soluble grit which stays in the birds’ crop to aid digestion. Grit is also necessary in preventing feather-pecking tendencies.
