The Coachi Baskerville Ultra Muzzle is used on dogs for many reasons, a couple of them being to prevent dogs from biting other dogs or people and to deter them from licking wounds. It is vital that the dog is happy and comfortable wearing the muzzle so that training can commence to rule out these problems. The muzzle is made from a durable, but pliable thermos plastic rubber and the nylon straps are partly lined with soft neoprene padding. By placing the muzzle in hot water, it can be moulded to fit the shape of your dog's muzzle - broad muzzle for a boxer or narrow for a Borzoi. The lightweight muzzle is ergonomically designed and is safe and secure and easily attached by placing the muzzle on your dog's nose and fastening the fully adjustable metal buckle at the top of the neck. There are two extra places for secure attachment, one is a loop at the bottom, on the underside of the neck to attach to your dog's regular collar, and the other is an optional, removable overhead safety strap. The muzzle is 'treat friendly' and allows the handler to reward his dog when he is wearing the muzzle which is crucial during behaviour modification programmes. It also allows a dog to pant and to drink water unimpeded. The overall experience of using the Coachi Halti Training Lead is one of enjoyment, simplicity and comfort. The soft texture of the polyester lead will be gentle in your hands offering comfort and warmth in wet and cold weather. The components of the training lead such as the 'O' ring, 'D' ring and anti-twisting clips are lightweight and unobtrusive. The double ended lead lends itself to being the perfect guiding device. It is designed for use with a Halti headcollar but can be used in many other situations such as: The trigger hook can be attached to a Halti and the heavier hook attached to the collar or harness so that your dog can be guided by both hands. The left hand can be used as a brake whilst the right hand 'steers'. If more control is needed for a boisterous dog, the lead can be doubled up for extra security. If you have an especially powerful dog, one end of the Halti Training Lead can be attached around the waist and the other end attached to the collar or harness. This hands-free setup allows you to focus on the job at hand such as heelwork training. Another use for the Halti Training Lead is for tethering your dog to a post, bearing in mind that your dog must be used to and tolerate being tethered. The Coachi Toilet Training Bells are a must-have for owners of puppies that need to be toilet trained. It is a simple, but effective idea. Toilet training can be a difficult and challenging task for dogs and their owners. By placing the Toilet Training Bells in a prominent position, ideally, on a door handle, he will be able to let you know when he needs to go outside. This is a much better solution than other communication techniques such as barking or door scratching. Hang the Training Bells on the door handle, if possible. Adjust the height of the bells so that they are comfortably reached by your dog's nose. How to train your puppy to use the Bells: Put simply, the Training Bells are a way for your dog to communicate that he needs to go to toilet. By nudging the bells, he is letting your know that he needs to go. 1. Familiarise your puppy with the Bells - the feel, the sight and the sound of them. To begin with, he might even find them a bit scary. But, when he associates them with being let outside and having a treat and lots of praise, he will soon learn that they are exciting and not scary. Lead him up to the Bells and let him have a sniff and, when he nudges them with his nose, give him a treat and some praise. If he doesn't seem interested in investigating the Bells, smear some tasty food onto the bells to encourage him. 2. When your puppy approaches the Bells by himself, encourage him to ring them. As soon as he has done this, open the door to let him out into the garden and offer him a treat. If your puppy is, at first, reluctant to ring the Bells, give him a hand by ringing them yourself and immediately open the door so that he associates bell ringing with the door being opened. Reinforce the bell ringing with a reference word such as 'Outside'. It might take a while to get to this stage, but be persistent as puppies learn at different rates. N.B. At first, your puppy may ring the bells because he associates it with going outside and having fun and not going to toilet. This is quite acceptable, but continue to reinforce the training.
