Spirit based, superior quality strong iodine. A concentrated skin disinfectant for use in the management of livestock. Iodine is a steralilizing agent and is also useful as a wound cleaner. It is an effective slow release formula for use on the skin and navels of new born lambs. During the process of lambing, the umbilical cord that attached the lamb to the placenta of the ewe will break. A small thread will remain on the lamb and dry up naturally in the first few days of life. Whilst this is generally safe for the lamb in outdoor conditions, the risk of bacterial infection arising indoors is high. Iodine solution should be applied to the navel as soon as possible after birth and allowed to dry before turnout.
