Dengie Grass Pellets can be fed as a partial hay replacer dry or soaked and will tempt even the fussiest of eaters. These grass pellets are a clean source of fibre that are highly digestible and ideal for older horses with poor teeth. They are also great as a snack to help reduce boredom. Dengie Meadow Grass with Herbs is a complementary feed and it is suggested that a broad range of vitamins and mineral supplements be used with this feed for a balanced diet. It is full of yummy goodness that will tempt even the fussiest of eaters. Carefully selected herbs such as liquorice root, ground fennel, chamomile, aniseed and mint have been added for health and palatability. Grass pellets have also been added for texture. It is ideal for feeding to competition horses and ponies and can be used as a hay replacer if required. The grass is grown in Lincolnshire and is harvested from May to October and dried to produce a consistent, clean source of fibre that is highly digestible. Argo Grass Nuts are made from 100% natural grown grass with no additives. In order to prevent too rapid a consumption we recommend that grass pellets should be fed with at least an equal volume of a bulky feed. Fibre Plus Nuggets are chunky, high fibre cubes designed to be fed as a partial forage replacer to horses and ponies of all types at rest or in work. Their crunchy texture and natural fibre content ensure the horse has plenty to chew on and they are easily fed on the ground, or in boredom toys, to encourage natural foraging behaviour. These low starch, low energy nuggets contain no added vitamins and minerals so should ideally be fed alongside additional forage sources and the recommended amount of a balancer or other compound feed, to ensure a fully balanced diet. With extracts of flavours of essential oils, Fibre Plus Nuggets are particularly palatable so are ideal for tempting fussy feeders or convalescents. How the haylage is made Haylage is a grass crop that is cut and wilted in the same way as hay but baled one or two days earlier. All the stages of haylage production are carried out by ourselves allowing to harvest the crop at the correct time resulting in the best possible haylage. The big bales are multi wrapped and stored safely until a mild fermentation process is complete, producing a moist, dust free product. Once wrapped, nutrients level stay the same until opened. After a suitable period of time our large bales are quality checked and then packed into smaller vacuum pack bales. The haylage is densely compressed to extrude as much air as possible and heat sealed ensuring none of the quality is lost. Harvested from perennial meadows, growing in the foothills of the Bavarian Pre-Alps, in southern Germany, Natural Meadow Cobs contain an appetising blend of up to 60 different species of naturally-occurring meadow grasses, wildflowers and herbs, and are high in fibre, yet low in sugars, starch and calories as the plants have been left to mature before cutting. They are then coarsely chopped and high-temperature dried - in a facility powered by renewable biomass-fuelled electricity - and pressed into chunky cobs. Nothing added, nothing taken away! Natural Meadow Cobs contain no added vitamins and minerals so can be fed alongside an existing balanced diet, as an appetising additional fibre source, without causing any nutritional imbalances. FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONS Must be soaked before feeding Add 2 parts water to 1 part Natural Meadow Cobs eg. 2 scoops of water to 1 scoop cobs. (More water can be added if you want to help rehydrate your horse) Soak time: allow 30 minutes in warm water and 1 hour in cold water. Ensure the cobs are fully softened before feeding. The aroma and texture of fresh grasses is brought out by soaking, which also helps improve the horse’s hydration levels. Feed as part of a fully balanced diet. Natural Meadow Cobs contain no added vitamins and minerals so must be fed alongside the recommended amount of a mix, cube or balancer, to ensure a fully balanced diet. When fed as a total forage replacement ie. when no other forage or grazing is given, feed at a rate of 1.5 - 2kg per 100kg of bodyweight (dry) per day. When fed in addition to forage and/or hard feed, 0.5-1kg per 100kg bodyweight (dry) may be fed per day. Divide total daily amount into as many smaller feeds, throughout the day, as possible. A small number of Natural Meadow Cobs can be fed dry, if given as treat, by hand, for example, otherwise we strongly recommend they are soaked before feeding.
