Wild Bird
5 Reasons Why You Should Feed Wild Birds
Just why do a lot of the UK population feed the wild birds outside? We have no official responsibility for them, they’re not our pets, but we still do so. If you’re unsure on why the hobby is of such a benefit, we’ve come up with 5 wild bird feeding benefits!
Destruction of Their Habitat
As humans we’re quite selfish with the earth’s resources and have destroyed a lot of bird’s natural habitat for our own gain. By feeding the birds we’re giving something back. We’re making sure that we’re giving them a better chance of living in the same world.Bring Life to Your Garden
Having wild birds attracted to your garden really makes your garden more visually gratifying. Colourful birds such as Robins and Starlings are just beautiful to look at and appreciate.Seeing Nature in Action
By having more wild birds in our garden, we get to see nature take place right in front of our eyes. We get to observe their behaviour from the comfort of our own home. This could be brutal when watching birds fight over food, or cute if you spot mothers with their younger birds. Either way, watching them is very interesting.Sense of Accomplishment
You may want to attract a certain kind of bird, and this is what brings the challenge aspect. It takes time to figure out what your garden birds prefer to eat. Once you’ve figured it out, it can be quite addictive.Companionship
You may be in the position where you can’t have a pet. Wild birds offer a kind of companionship to those who take the time to get to know them. You’ll be able to observe certain repeated behaviours and you’ll become more attached to them. Before you know it you’ll be recognising what may be the same Robin visiting your garden every morning, and it’ll feel great knowing you’re helping them out.]]>Leave a reply

Thanks for the tips on why we should be feeding wild birds. In my opinion, the biggest benefit is that you bring more life to your garden. There is just something about birds in the garden that really makes it feel more like a garden. My mom has been wanting to get a birdhouse feeder; I will be sure to share this with her. http://www.incidentaltreasures.com/birdhouses.html
