How to Properly Calculate Your Dogs Age in Human Years
Trying to calculate your dogs age is a lot more complicated than you might think. As dogs come in so many different shapes and sizes, there is no one rule to determine how old they are. A lot of people will say to find out your dogs age they would need to multiply it by 7, but this has since been proven to be an inaccurate way of finding out. So how should you go about calculating a dog’s true age?
Up to 2 years:
- 12.5 years for every human year for the first two years for small dogs.
- 10.5 years for every human year for the first two years for medium dogs.
- 9 years for every human year for the first two years for big dogs.
For 3 years and above :
Simply take these numbers below and multiply them by how many years old they are in human years, to reveal their true age in human years. Small- Dachshund (Miniature) 4.32
