Paws for thought
A note from us 🎄
“The power of friendship is amazing and i’ve watched some wonderful people become friends in the place we have created” Nic, Llangefni Dog Park Manager
As we take time to wind down and relax with loved ones, we are reflecting on what has been a wonderful year at petplace.
We asked a few familiar faces what their highlights were and to sum up this year. ✨
Jodie, Design, Marketing & Socials 👩🏻💻
“During my first year at petplace, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I have been so pleasantly surprised. The community is like nothing i’ve seen before between customers and the teams, everyone has been so welcoming.
Massive thanks from me to every customer who tags us in photos, interacts on socials, sends us videos and to all our amazing new followers.
Thank you also to all the petplace and Farm and Pet Place teams who I am always pestering for content and getting involved in (sometimes wacky) ideas. Matt, Nat, Meurig, Head Office and the website team for always being full of knowledge, support and a laugh! And to Sion & Paul for giving me the chance and the confidence to do what I love and learn so much along the way.
I’m looking forward to 2024 and what the boss has lined up next!”
Dave, Store Manager, Abergele 🐾
“We have welcomed new management this year, dog park team members and new customers. We have introduced a dog park membership scheme, dog birthday parties and dog park Christmas parties which have been a huge success.
We have also raised lots of money for incredible charities including Hope House, Paws off Duty and Macmillan.
We would like to thank all of our customers for their support and look forward to welcoming you back in the new year.”
Sam, Store Manager, Mold 🐈⬛
“Since making the move from Ruthin to Mold as their new manager, the customers and staff have been very supportive.
Being assistant manager here 2 years ago, it was lovely to see the staff & customers happy to see me back.
Over the past couple of months, we have changed quite a bit to the store and the layout. We have taken sections out, re-merchandised most of the sections creating a better shopping experience for customers.
The atmosphere is great and it’s nice to see the store busy with happy customers.
I’m looking forward to what is next for our store!”
Chris, Store Manager, Llangefni 🐰
“Well it’s been a heck of a year with the new store being launched into 2023 and the team working very hard to maintain the highest standards both in customer service and merchandising to give the customers the best shopping experience in the UK.
We have gained a new assistant store manager, Jac who has been an amazing addition to the team, had lots of events including store launch, marketing and promo videos, attending Pride in Caernarfon (which was amazing fun!)
It’s been a great year!”
Steve, Store Manager, Gledrid 🐴
“This year has been an amazing, busy and fun filled year and we have met some great new customers to add to our already amazing regulars.
We are not just a pet shop, but also a hive of knowledge and experience with someone always on hand to help our customers with their pets. Myself and the team still get excited for new products and ranges!
It is with great thanks to our customers for their continued support, that we all as a team enjoy coming to work, meeting and helping customers and of course, their pets.
Merry Christmas to all our amazing customers, from Steve and the Team.”
Nic, Dog Park Manager, Llangefni 🐶
“I first knew about the dog park as I visited Abergele as a customer. I absolutely loved the concept and knew instantly that’s what I wanted to do, so when I head there was one coming to Llangefni I had my heart set on being a part of it.
We soon created a community feel and we have such lovely customers who have developed friendships with each other as well as dogs becoming best friends too.
The little things that I found so heartwarming were one lady leaving her phone number for another customer so he could call her for a lift and not walk to the dog park in the rain. Another customer gifting a pet place gift card to another customer who had taken some lovely pictures of their dog.
The power of friendship is amazing and i’ve watched some wonderful people become friends in the place we have created.
On a personal note, it is so massively important for me for the dog park to be a welcoming and inclusive place for people of all walks of life to enjoy socialising with their dogs.
Most of the people who are now good friends all met in the park and didn’t know one another previously.
The park is a real lifeline for many people who perhaps would not socialise without it.
I would like to Thank Amie, Chris, Jac, Nat and Matt for their support. Kirstyn, Miranda, Emrys and Julie for all their hard work. Jodie and all the head office crew for all they do behind the scenes. The Llangefni shop floor team for helping out when we get really busy.
And finally Sion and Paul for giving me this opportunity and believing in me.”
