Tips on how to measure your horse for a rug:
- It is always better to go up a size if your horse measures up to be between sizes for a horse rug, (e.g. if your horse is 5’1″, get a 5’3″ rug rather than a 5’0″ one).
- There are many types of horse rugs to choose from, including fly sheets, turnouts, stable rugs and more.
- Some of the most trusted brands include Weatherbeeta, Masta and our very own brand Dr Green.
- It is also very important to consider the weight of the rug and if it is appropriate for the time of year and weather conditions. Thicker horse rugs worn during warmer months will undoubtedly make your horse uncomfortable and they’ll try to find a way out of it, resulting in a very dirty and damaged horse rug.
