Nutramin Cider Vinegar with Garlic A totally natural organic, anti-bacterial, anti-coccidial anthelmintic and tonic which has beneficial effects for all livestock and poultry. Increases egg supply, improves feathering and improves flavour and tenderness of meat birds. Rich in minerals and trace elements, general tonic for all livestock, not just chickens. Supplying apple cider vinegar is a proven way to reduce stress in chickens which can be a cause of letting in infections and reducing egg production. Cider vinegar is acidic and is a mild antiseptic that will kill many germs. Added garlic helps the immune and respiratory system. We recommend feeding this for one week every month for the best results. It is also a good idea to feed this when the chickens move home, have a scare, when introducing new birds, when the weather changes quickly or any other stressful event. Only use a plastic drinker when mixing vinegar with the drinking water, using a galvanised drinker will result in corrosion. Made from whole apples. 1litre.

All poultry owners know how important it is to keep their chickens in the best of health. It is therefore vital that a worm count test is carried out for the health and vitality of their girls. Test your chickens when they have not recently been wormed in case it gives a false reading. Test late in the year during or after the moult so that you know your birds are going into winter worm free. Test Jan-March ready for the breeding season. Test newly acquired stock. Test an individual that you are concerned about. A general check during the laying season. Worm problems in chickens can result in chickens being underweight, producing fewer eggs and generally looking under the weather. Doing a worm count will give you peace of mind. If they have worms, the problem can be treated. If they haven’t got any worms, you won’t have wormed them just for the sake of it. If you have just a few chickens, you might like to test each one individually, otherwise for a large flock you will need to send a composite sample. The Worm Count Kit is easy to use with fast results. To take a composite sample for testing: 1. Collect fresh droppings from several areas in the hen house using the large plastic bag. 2. Squeeze the bag to mix the droppings together. Fill the sample container using the mixed droppings. 3. Put your own name and sample name/number on the label. 4. Place the container and label inside the small plastic bag. 5. Place the small plastic bag with the completed voucher in the pre-paid padded bag. The test will show if the following are present in the sample: Coccidian Oocysts, Ascaridia eggs (roundworms), Capillaria eggs, any other eggs seen in the sample. Tapeworm eggs may not show up in a worm count because of the way that they are expelled. If you notice anything unusual that you are unsure of then please include it with the sample for checking. The service is quite speedy and is usually carried out on the day the test kit arrives. Results are available later by phone, fax, text or e.mail. Everything you need for the test is included in the package including a glove for collecting the sample. New compostable packaging with unique zero waste design. Contains a sample pot and full instructions on how to collect a sample from the field/stable. For worming advice, please feel free to contact our suitably qualified person (SQP).
