You should remove your pets from the area to be treated and ensure all pets bedding is washed on a hot cycle. It is important that all animals are removed prior to treatment until the room is well ventilated (at least 2 hours after spraying), including pet birds, reptiles, insects, and spiders. Where possible, remove aquariums, vivariums and all water storage tanks. Prior to using Indorex on or around any upholstered furniture, you should test on an inconspicuous area of fabric. How to use: Start by shaking your can of Indorex well, remove the lid and hold the container upside down, pointing directly at the surface to be treated, at a distance of about 50cm. Where to use: Spray directly on carpets, flooring, skirting boards, and underneath any rugs or blankets. Paying particular attention to any cracks and crevices. Avoid wetting furniture and carpeting, do not over-apply to polished wood surfaces. A five second burst will treat approximately one square metre. Ventilation:Once you have sprayed, leave the room and wait for half an hour before ventilating the area by opening windows and doors for at least an hour. Cleaning: It is vital that you vacuum all floors and upholstered furniture for 7 consecutive days after using Indorex. The vibrations from the vacuum will make sure that any unhatched pupae will hatch out and be killed by the Indorex you have used. Always empty the contents of the vacuum outside. In order to reduce further the environmental challenge, it is recommended that all cats, dogs and rabbits in the household are treated. The product remains effective if the animal becomes wet, for example after exposure to heavy rain. However, re-treatment may become necessary, depending on the presence of fleas in the environment. In these cases do not treat more frequently than once weekly. Special precautions for use Special precautions for use in animals This product is for topical use and should not be administered orally. Apply only to undamaged skin Care should be taken to avoid the contents of the pipette coming into contact with the eyes or mouth of the recipient animal. Do not allow recently treated animals to groom each other. Special precautions to be taken by the person administering the veterinary medicinal product to animals This product can cause mucous membrane, skin and eye irritation. Therefore, contact of the product with mouth, skin and eyes should be avoided. This product contains benzyl alcohol and may cause skin sensitisation or transient skin reactions in rare cases (for example, irritation, tingling). People with a known hypersensitivity (allergy) to insecticides or alcohol should avoid contact with the product. Do not smoke, drink or eat during application. If contact with the skin occurs, wash hands with soap and water. If the product gets into eyes, the eyes should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water. If skin or eye irritation persists, or the product is accidentally swallowed, seek medical advice. Do not stroke, groom or play with treated animals until the application site is dry. It is therefore recommended that animals are not treated during the day, but should be treated during the early evening, and that recently treated animals are not allowed to sleep with owners, especially children. Dispose of used pipettes immediately. Wash hands after use. Other precautions The solvent in this product may stain certain materials including leather, fabrics, plastics and finished surfaces. Allow the application site to dry before permitting contact with such materials. Imidacloprid is toxic to aquatic organisms. To avoid adverse effects on aquatic organisms, treated dogs should not be allowed to enter surface water for 48 hours after treatment. Adverse reactions (frequency and seriousness) The product is bitter tasting and salivation may occasionally occur if the animal licks the application site immediately after treatment. This is not a sign of intoxication and disappears within some minutes without treatment. In very rare occasions (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals, including isolated reports) skin reactions such as hair loss, redness, itching and skin lesions may occur. Agitation has also been reported. Excessive salivation and nervous signs such as incoordination, tremors and depression have been reported but exceptionally in cats. The frequency of adverse reactions is defined using the following convention: - very common (more than 1 in 10 animals treated displaying adverse reaction(s)) - common (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 100 animals treated) - uncommon (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 1,000 animals treated) - rare (more than 1 but less than 10 animals in 10,000 animals treated) - very rare (less than 1 animal in 10,000 animals treated, including isolated reports). Use during pregnancy, lactation or lay No reproductive toxic effects have been observed in rats and no primary embryotoxic or teratogenic toxic effects have been observed during the studies on rats and rabbits. Studies on pregnant and lactating bitches, queens and does together with their offspring are limited. Evidence so far suggests that no adverse effects are to be expected in these animals. Consult your veterinary surgeon before using in pregnant or nursing animals.
