Spillers Happy Hoof is the first and only complete chopped fibre approved by the Laminitis Trust. Mint, garlic and soya oil are added to the quality ingredients to make this feed highly palatable - with added biotin to aid healthy hoof growth. Spillers Happy Hoof contains very low levels of cereal starch and sugar and is high in minerals and vitamins making it ideally suited for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Low in calories making it ideal for good doers, native ponies and those at rest or in light work. Contains a special blend of natural fibres to help keep your horse or pony eating for longer when compared to cubes and mixes. Spillers Happy Hoof can be fed as a complete feed or a replacement for compound feed. Each 20kg should be expected to last around 1 week depending on the diet of your horse. The feed should ideally be kept in an air tight container once opened but as long as it is kept in a cool, dry are area away from direct sunlight and pests it should be fine. An example diet would consist of: 350kg Pony prone to laminits and no grazing should consume 2kg Spillers Happy Hoof and 5kg Hay on a daily basis. 500kg Cob on limited grazing should consume 3kg Spillers Happy Hoof and 4kg hay on a daily basis. 420kg Elderly Pony That cannot eat hay should consume 4kg Spillers happy hoof and 4kg Spillers High Fibre Cubes. Happy hooves Molasses Free will give you one happy horse. A unique, low calorie blend with low Molasses content, it is perfect for horses and ponies that are prone to Laminitis. Laminitis is a painful inflammatory condition of the tissues, that bond the hoof wall to the pedal bone within a horse’s hoof. Molasses has been known for triggering laminitis, which is why this low-molasses feed has been created to reduce the risk of this horrible infection taking effect. The ingredients are a palatable blend of straw, alfalfa, grass nuts, garlic and rapeseed oil. These individual ingredients have their own benefits: garlic is a renowned superfood known for its anti-inflammatory properties, and alfalfa is a wonderful source of energising protein. With no sugar and low in starch, its calorific content is much lower than other feeds, making it a healthier choice for your horse.
