Mr Johnson's Wildlife Swan, Duck and Goose food is a nibbly, crunchy and healthy complementary feed for Swans, Ducks and Geese. A walk down onto the riverbank on a warm summer's day, topped off a with a picnic... sounds like pure bliss. You might even be tempted to feed some of those left over crusts to our beautiful feathered friends, swimming hungrily towards you on the water. Feeding wildfowl is important, especially during times of natural food shortage. But if you knew the harm bread could cause to these beautiful birds, you might just put them in the bin instead. Feeding wildfowl along the riverside is an incredibly popular past time for children and families. In fact, we feed a staggering six million loaves of bread a year! The bread that is left uneaten in the water deteriorates, as usual, causing a large buildup of bacteria and attracting rats and other vermin. When wildfowl continue to swim along these waters, they are opening themselves to range of bad bacteria that can cause various disabling health problems. Not only that, but bread has no nutritional value whatsoever, meaning that a diet of bread alone will prevent these birds from eating a naturally balanced diet. Fortified with vitamins and minerals, Mr Johnson's Wildlife bird feed is a much healthier alternative for birds. A combination of wheat, soya and fish meal packed into tiny crunchy balls, they are small enough be scooped up easily by their beaks, unlike bread. This feed also floats on the water, meaning less wastage for you. Vitamin A will help the function of their eyes, respiratory and digestive system. Vitamin D will protect their bones and Vitamin E will serve and an antioxidant. All of these qualities will contribute to the health and vitality of these beautiful birds. Best of all, the food is incredibly delicious to them - these peckish peckers are bound to come back for more. Let’s protect these birds and bin the bread, once and for all. Size - 750g Feeding Guide: It is safer to feed wildfowl while they are in the water, rather than while they are on the bank. This enables many birds to reach the food without over-crowding. Allow the birds to eat what has been thrown first, before throwing out any more. A 2.25kg bag of Bakery Grade Sunflower Chips, meaning they have the highest oil content and are even more nutritious. If you're going to feed only one kind of bird seed to your wild birds, it should be sunflower seeds as they are accepted by more birds than any other kind of seed. They'll provide garden birds with high fat and energy that they'll require, especially in the colder winter months. Sunflower chips are just the broken up pieces of Sunflower Hearts (which are Sunflower seeds without the shell, just the nutmeat). This makes it really easy for the birds to eat, especially ones with smaller beaks who could choke on bigger seeds. Because of their smaller size they'll usually leave no if any mess as more birds can easily eat them. During the breeding season these chips will be sought after by birds for their young due to their smaller size for their chicks. During the winter, birds will choose these seeds over sunflower seeds, as the latter require them to crack them open, taking up valuable energy. Sunflower chps are also a no mess wild bird seed, which means that there aren't any seed shells to clear up after the birds have fed. Sunflower chips are usually eaten by Tits, Finches, Dunnocks, Sparrows, Pigeons, Doves and Thrushes. Sunflower chips are suitable for seed feeders or sprinkled onto the ground or a bird table. We'd recommend a seed feeder designed for finer seeds, due to the chips small size. Shelled sunflower seeds usually spoil faster when exposed to dampness so they should be offered in feeders that provide protection from the harsh weather outside.
Brambles Crunchy Hedgehog Food consists of small kibbles with poultry as the main ingredient. Available in 900g and 2Kg sizes. FEEDING GUIDELINES Each evening offer about a handful of food per hedgehog in a shallow dish. Always ensure there is a supply of fresh water, particularly when feeding dry food and during warm weather. If you want to keep cats and dogs from eating Brambles Crunchy Hedgehog Food you can build a small feeding station by using a plastic box with a section cut out at the base of one end. A hole of about 13cm diameter should do the trick, and weigh down the box with something heavy for added security. It may take a little while for the hedgehogs to get used to a different food but do persevere as this is normal with all animals. Also suitable for badgers and foxes.
