Dectospot Solution for Cattle and Sheep is a topical application used to control various lice, flies, fleas and ticks on cattle, sheep and lambs. The population of parasites vary and depend on the environment, the time of the year, who they come into contact with and habitat, to name but a few. Levels peak during summer with the risk of diseases spreading, therefore it is vital that you have the right treatment for your animal. Dectopost Solution is easy to use with spot-on treatment. A clear pale gold oily liquid that can be used in pregnancy and lactation. Cattle: Dose: 10ml. Controls Lice such as Damalinia bovis, Solenopotes capillatus, Linognathus vituli and Haematopinus eurysternus, with zero milk withdrawal in cattle. Controls biting and nuisance flies such as Haematobia irritans, Stomoxys calcitrans, Musca species and Hydrotaea irritans. One application should eradicate all lice within 4-5 weeks. This may stretch to 6-8 weeks on rare occasions. Fly level should be controlled within 4-8 weeks. Allow a 17 day period for meat withdrawal. Sheep: Dose: 5ml. Controls ticks Ixodes ricinus and treats blowfly in sheep. Ticks should be controlled up to 6 weeks after application. Treatment for flies should not be repeated within 4 weeks. Application for louse and ked should be reduced within a 4-6 week period. When treating Blowfly, apply directly to the maggot infested area. Application should ensure blowfly are killed in a short period of time. Allow a 35 day period for meat withdrawal. Lambs: Dose: 2.5ml (only under 10 kg bodyweight or 1 month of age). Controls ticks Ixodes ricinus and lice Bovicola ovis. Ticks should be controlled up to 6 weeks after application. When using the Dectospot Applicator (sold separately) on the skin of the animal, insert the T bar to separate the fleece and penetrate down the skin level before squeezing the applicator. (instructions can be found on applicator pack) - When applying the solution or handling the animal after treatment, it is recommend that you wear protective waterproof clothing including an apron, boots and impervious gloves. - Should your skin make contact with the solution, wash immediately with soap and plenty of warm water. Avoid contact with eyes. Seek medical advice after contact. - Incase of accidental ingestion, wash mouth out thoroughly and seek medical advice. - Do not drink, smoke or eat whilst handling this product, as this will increase risk of contamination. - Some cattle have shown minor signs of discomfort during the 48 hours after treatment. This is nothing to be concerned about and will have no long term effect on the animal. . - Do not mix with any other solution/ insecticide. This solution contains Deltamethrin, a highly toxic synthetic insecticide which, when in contact with skin, can produce tingling, itchiness and blotchy redness. It also has the potential to adversely affect non-target organisms, reducing the abundance of dung feeding organisms when excreted onto pastures by treated animals. Shelf Life When packaged for sale - 2 years. After first opening the immediate packaging - 3 months. Storage: No special temperature required for storage. Protect from light. Store in tightly closed original container away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. Keep the vial in the outer carton to protect from light. Keep away from aquatic life, ponds, waterways and ditches. Dispose in accordance with local requirements.
