Description
The Maize is a complementary food and can be fed as a scratch feed or in a separate feeder. Your girls are really going to enjoy having a good old peck and forage in the yard, keeping them busy and entertained. It not only keeps them busy, but increases their exercise to ease boredom, as stress can have a detrimental effect on hens causing them to pull their feathers out.
Poultry will delight in this heavenly feed which should be available in the afternoon as a treat to munch after they have eaten the pellets or mash offered in the morning so that they do not fill themselves with it in preference to the fully balanced food.
Maize should only be considered a treat and only a handful should be thrown in late afternoon. This amazing food will provide your poultry with lots of energy keeping them fit and healthy.
The brightly coloured yellow Maize contains a lot of fat and is ideal for feeding in the colder months to keep your girls nice and cosy.
Suitable for all poultry to include hens, ducks, geese, turkeys and guinea fowl (but not chicks).
Please note that feeding hens too much maize will make them fat and fat hens don't lay eggs.
The feed should be kept dry and in a cool area.
