Calci dust can be used to supplement vegetable food for tortoises and all other herbivorous reptiles, to provide essential dietary Calcium. As it is not possible to overdose with Calci Dust it can be used at every feed. Sprinkle freely over food immediately before feeding. Large quantities are not required, due to the 100% concentration. It is best to avoid smothering the food as they may find it unpalatable. If acceptance is a problem, start feeding very low levels and gradually increase.
Most reptiles can absorb calcium from their food only in the presence of Vitamin D3. It is essential that UVB light, of the correct wavelength and intensity, is provided to enable D3 synthesis, or that oral D3 is supplied. It is recommended that a vitamin/mineral supplement is used in conjunction with Calci Dust.
