Description
Packed full of energy, nutrients and additive free, mealworms are loved by many birds, but especially insect eating birds such as the Robin and Blackbird.
Dried mealworms are the young beetle larvae that birds would usually feed on in the wild, however they have been dried out so they retain all their goodness but lose the moisture. As live mealworms are difficult to store, transport and even handle by some of us who are squeamish, they're a great solution. You can sprinkle them as they are or soak them for a few minutes in water to make them even more appealing to garden birds.
Mealworms attract a huge range of garden birds which includes Thurshes, Starling, Pigeons, Doves, Crows, Sparrows, Dunnock, Wren, Finches, Tits.
Mealworms can be sprinkled over a bird table, ground feeder or in special mealworm feeders.
Store the mealworms in a cool, dry place.
