What fabrics or materials are used?
Soft carpet fabric covers the two MDF platforms and the sleeping quarters, whilst the scratching posts are covered in catnip* infused jute* which is tough and durable to withstand a full assault from your excitable moggy.

*Catnip is a plant which produces a chemical called Nepetalactone. This chemical appears to alter activity in several areas of the brain, one of them being the hypothalamus, which regulates emotions. This is why when your cat has a niff of the catnip contained in a toy it will drive him scatty and he will become very animated. It is quite hilarious to watch and after a short while, he will return to being calm. Not all cats are affected in this way. The trait appears to be passed on genetically and if your cat is affected the first time he sniffs the catnip, he will always be affected by it.
*Jute is a natural fibre which is strong and durable when woven into a rope for covering scratching posts.
