Description

British Horse Feeds - Micronized Cooked Linseed Meal 20kg

British Horse feeds from MMF Linseed offers a great value and high quality product as the 20kg bag consists of 100% clean dark brown meal or flakes of Non-GM Linseed, cooked and micronised.

A popular addition to any equine diet, helping boost their overall nutrition and health whilst also greatly improving coat condition. Linseed, in its raw state, contains the enzyme Linase which can trigger the release of hydrogen cyanide. Micronisation not only enhances feed value and palatability, but also destroys the Linase, so that the resulting product can be fed direct to all stock with no messy prep.  High in Omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids, Cooked Linseed keeps your horse feeling good on the inside and looking great on the outside! Its high energy and low starch levels are especially beneficial to all Equines, including older horses, and those prone to Laminitis.

What is Micronizing?
Micronizing is the name given to a cooking process that uses infrared rays to cook cereals and pulses at lower temperatures and for shorter times than other heating methods. Gas burners are used to generate the infrared rays that are absorbed by the products. The raw materials are passed under the burners on variable speed belts to achieve the desired level of cook. The product is then passed through a roller mill to create flakes. These flakes can be used whole or ground into a meal.

Benefits of Micronized Products.
Micronized products provide improved nutritional value over feeding the same materials uncooked. Increased available energy and improved digestibility are both achieve due to the gelatinisation of starch molecules during the cooking process. This is particularly beneficial in starter diets for young animals and even poultry

Key advantages are:
- No messy boiling
- Safe to feed
- Natural anti-oxidants

Feed Recommendations:
- Ponies (daily) 150g
