Front Range – Harness

When choosing a harness for your dog you want to make sure that it allows free front leg movement. Without rubbing or pinching against your dog’s chest or armpits. To get the right size for your dog measure around your dog’s girth to identity the appropriate harness for their size. Then fit the harness in the first instance with all of the straps fully extended. Using the three-bar adjuster points on each side of the shoulder and girth respectively. 

When the harness is on you should be able to slide a finger between the straps. Your dog’s body comfortably to know that you have the right fit. A correctly fitted harness should stay securely in place when your dog is on the move without slipping. Nor restricting your dog’s full range of movement. 

Some poorer quality or cheaper built harnesses can cause the opposite effect and leave your dog in discomfort if used for extended periods of time. If for instance your dog is a little boisterous or is particularly playful a lot of harnesses can not stand up to everyday use.
