A 20kg sack of Peanuts for garden birds. That's all there is in this bag, just simple yet quality peanuts for birds.
Peanuts are an ideal wild bird food source and will appeal to a wide range of wild birds throughout the year due to their high content of natural oils, protein, essential vitamins and minerals.
Peanuts for garden and wild birds should ideally be fed from a peanut feeder (with a mesh), but they can be fed from bird tables and the ground. However, during the breeding season peanuts should only be fed from a peanut feeder to reduce the risk of a choking hazard for hatchlings and young birds.
Peanuts can be contaminated by a fungus which produces a poison known as aflatoxin which is harmful to birds. Our 20kg bird peanuts are bird feed grade and are Aflatoxin screened so you can rest assured them will do no harm.
You need to make sure that you store the peanuts in a cool dry location.
Although not a naturally occurring foodstuff for our native birds, most species will readily accept and enjoy them when offered and they are ideal to help wild birds through harsh or demanding times.
Peanuts are popular with tits, greenfinches, house sparrows, nuthatches, great spotted woodpeckers and siskins. If you crush the peanuts up, it will also attract robins and dunnocks too as well as being safe to use in the breeding season. Alternatively we have the split peanuts 13kg which makes this easier.
Feeding these wild bird peanuts isn't a messy affair either. Other feeds like sunflower seed for example can result in a mound of unwanted husks at the bottom of the feeder. There's no such problem with these peanuts!
In summer it is important to not put too many peanuts out at once, as they can go rancid quickly in warm weather making the birds ill. 20kg peanuts is the perfect amount to last you and keep your garden filled with happy birds! You can even get 2 bags for just £54.99 with free delivery!
