Best Places to Walk Your Dog in North Wales
Best Places to Walk Your Dog in North Wales Finally! Spring is here! Sunshine and good weather can mean only one thing for dog owners… Walkies! It’s that time of year where walking your dog can become something you look forward to, and not the burden some of us think of in the dark and bleak winter. The better weather also gives us wider options for dog walks in North Wales, and gives us opportunities to explore places we’ve never been before. And, in our opinion, there is no better place than North Wales to explore with your best furry friend! We’ve put together a list of places to walk your dog in North Wales that we know you’ll love!
Dog Walks North Wales
Wrexham Dog Walks
Nant Mill, Wrexham – This place is perfect for the long distance walker and like minded pooches! A 6.5 mile trail that winds through countryside, woodlands and alongside a river. We’re sure you or your dog will not get bored! Chirk Castle, Chirk – For those who like a bit of history, this is the perfect place to walk your dog! Explore up up to 480 acres of the estate and parkland. As well as the castle courtyard, where dogs are welcome.Flintshire Dog Walks
Talacre Beach – If you and your pooch fancy something a bit different to countryside and woodland, then Talacre will sure to get the tails wagging! Part of North Wales’ extensive coast line, Talacre beach is an incredibly popular destination for visitors and walkers! Nercwys Forest Circular Walk, Mold – A relatively easy walk, it is a 3 mile trail that is, most of the way, quite flat. A good fit if you own a dog that is not very suited to walking long distances, or over challenging terrain. Prestatyn Beach – Another addition to the beach list. Like Talacre, Prestatyn Beach is a popular tourist destination, and an absolute favourite with dog walkers! Walk along the coastline path with your dog and you can reach the popular seaside town of Rhyl.Conwy Dog Walks
Colwyn Bay to Llanddulas – This is a fairly easy walk that stretches from the Colwyn Bay promenade and takes you to Llanddulas. A popular spot for dog walkers, you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Great Orme and Llandudno. Bodnant Gardens – This a beautiful Grade 1 listed botanical gardens, which is also very historic. It is open to dog walkers from the beginning of May to the end of August, but only Wednesday evenings from 5pm. However, it is definitely worth it! Marine Drive – Marine Drive in Llandudno takes you right around the Great Orme with breathtaking views to enjoy. It’s a longer walk with plenty of inclines and declines so perfect for a dog that requires lots for exercise and an owner that doesn’t mind a long hill walk! One of my personal favourite dog walks in North Wales.Anglesey Dog Walks
Plas Newydd – This a is a wonderful place to bring your four legged friend. A beautiful house and gardens, with extended parkland and grounds perfect for dogs! Newborough – This is a place for everyone and all dogs. Let your pooches have a nice stroll through the forest, or an exhilarating run on the beaches and into the waters! With great selection of routes and paths, and stunning views, we’re sure you’ll love this one. There’s also a picnic area if all the excitement takes it out of you and your dog.Gwynedd Dog Walks
Snowdonia – Finally, how could we forget this extraordinary place. Snowdonia has an amazing variety of walks and adventures you can take with your furry best friend! Enjoy relaxing walks along footpaths that stretch over the hills and around one of the many lakes. Or if you and your dog are a bit more hardy, you can take on a more strenuous mountain path. There’s so much to do here, you and your dog will love it! [caption id="attachment_4079" align="aligncenter" width="720"] Snowdonia National Park[/caption]So, there we have it! A great selection, we think, of places to walk your dog in North Wales and to enjoy the outdoors and the lovely weather. Yes, we know how difficult choosing a place is going to be, but with an area as beautiful as North Wales, we’re sure you won’t go wrong wherever you choose… We’d also like to add, many of these walks will likely go through farmland where livestock will be kept. We ask you to keep your dog on a lead at all times when you do come across livestock. Now, we’re sure you’re sold on the idea of visiting some of these extraordinary places with your dog, but the next thing is to make sure you have the right equipment!
